As the Olympics goes into it’s second week of competition I have to admit I am not the kind of a person to sit and watch a full game or downhill skiing or what ever the event maybe. That does not mean I am not proud of our Canadian Athletes. I am. I just don’t enjoy the sport of watching. What does interest me are the human interest stories of the athletes. The sheer determination of all the athletes from all the countries to be at the Olympics competing for a spot on the medal podium. No curler is at the games curling their first game, no skier is skiing downhill or cross country for the first time at the games, no skater is stepping on the ice for the first time at the games. Everyone one of the competitors at the games, trained hard, work long hours, made mistakes, had setbacks, had victories and maybe more set backs. And everyone one of them started out an ordinary person looking to do extra ordinary things. What strikes me the most is the fact that many of those who compete have come back from setbacks and many have accomplished many victories already before the world stage games. What I am taking from their determination is that set backs did not stop them from working harder, longer, to get to be at these games. So why is it that those of us who have our own “Goal Podium” will take a setback as a negative and give up on our Goals. I believe that a setback is a learning experience and victories are to be celebrated but that they too are learning experiences. I am certain that quitting was not an option for any of those that made it to the games. So why is it that when we have roadblocks on our journey to our “GOAL” we look at quitting as the only option. I believe that we have the choice to make our “GOAL” a no option zone. I want to stand on my Medal Podium to reach for my “Goal” to get the Win that I am reaching for. What about you? Build a bridge with your gathered experiences and get over the road block.

You maybe ordinary but you can accomplish extra ordinary things. Go for the “GOAL”

I want to share some goals that I would like to work towards in the next few months. Having had this revelation this morning “when we take detours in life that are on the way to being destructive, it so good to know that it does not mean you can’t get back on the road to the successes that got you the desired results for the life that you want. I am grateful that I have the learned experience that nothing is every not reversible.” I would like to making a more detailed explanation of what this means to me. First I had one of the roughest weeks of my journey in a very long time. I don’t know why. What I do know is that I needed to go back to the reason I begin this journey to a healthy and thinner me. That reason begin to create a life that I could enjoy my family and in particular my grandchildren, by being present with their activities and their accomplishments. I have had so much fun doing that, so then why I ask myself, am I not seeing that at this point in my journey. Oh yeah I lost focus on the road. So here is what I am doing. Setting goals, journal, journal, journal, writing my thoughts. Being prepare, doing the positive self talk, (so when thoughts of aging make their appearance in my line of vision, I will say “okay I know you are there, but as a gremlin, I am going to place you over there so you will not take away my joy of being.”) And I will be accountable to myself and to others. So there it is! Oh yeah my goal is to set the course and stay with my healthy eating program, workout out 5-6 days a week, being accountable, and blogging once a week. The reality is it will have to be a planned goal written down. This will be the options; to not do it is not one of them, I have the experience of knowing that being prepare is the best option I have. Why? Because I like my life! This goal is one I am setting for the next six weeks then it is up for review. So I am holding myself accountable to you who read this. Please make me accountable to you and follow my steps on this path of the journey.

ordinary but does that mean I have to act ordinary? I say that because I want to let you know that I may do everyday things that change how I make this journey in life but I am not influence by a major event in my life. I have no U-turn in my life that made me make the choice to be healthy and thinner. What I have done is changed how ordinary. everyday things help me get the desired results. So because I use to do one thing one way once does not mean I am doing that ordinary way now.

2010 HERE I COME AND ARE YOU GOING TO FOLLOW ME?
Hard to believe that another decade has come and gone and that we are into the next decade of the 21st century.

There are two Questions that I want to ask and answer for myself on this NEW YEAR’S EVE as the last closing hours of 2009 happen.

#1 What did I learn in 2009 that made my life better than the year 2008?

What I learned was that my body has 4 rooms. The mental room, the physical room, the spiritual room and the emotional room and if I don’t visit every room once a day, even if it is just to air them out; I will not be able to function as a healthy, well person and I will not be able to help those I have a passion to help, reach for their healthy well person.

So I will continue to make daily visits to these rooms that are so vital to make life positive and pleasurable.

I also learned that if you do have to deal with the consequences when gremlins come along and get you to take your eye off the goal.

# 2 What can I do in 2010 to improve on the things that I learned in 2009?

I will continue to be persistent and positive and improve each day. So that when the gremlins come to interfere with the routine of life, I will only get stronger at sending them packing. I will remember the reason for all the hard work and that is so I can play with my wonderful grandchildren and enjoy life as the healthy person I desire to be.

I am also grateful for My husband who is my support when times of melt down come.

I am also grateful for the Greatest gift ever given to world JESUS.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL WHO READ THIS.

So the plan is that after tomorrow I will then be able to keep the momentum going by keep it in my vision and if I have a downfall the next day the t shirts go back and if the next day then the scarf goes back and if the next day all goes back but if I make it to Sat then and beyond I can wear it on Sat. Deal. Deal. enjoy moving with my three grandsons. Hide and and seek (4) hungry Josh, Micah and Grandma exercise with Micah and Yoga with Grandma. wow those boys can move.

Yesterday I acknowledge my secret, that I thought I could hid from the world; turns out I can’t!
I did not put back 15 lbs in two months as I stated yesterday it was a much slower put back than that. Eighteen months more likely is the truth. The last two months is the time period when I realized I could no long ignore my part in this situation. Okay so you are thinking, who else would have a part in something so personal? There really is nobody else it is just sometimes easier to think that it is not my fault and blame circumstances and external things instead of take responsibility for my own reaction to the external forces. Okay so now that I have acknowledge this secret not only to the world, but to those closes to me; I did it, what am I going to do to change it? The next step is to not beat myself up I did it, I have taken responsibility for the” put back of the weight”, now I will begin to put in to practice the principles that I have learned. So best practice is to know what works for me and that is keeping track of everything that passes my lips, best practice is to plan and prepare, best practice is to use the scale as an alien not an enemy and above all to treat my body with the respect that is desires for it can only responded to what I fed it remembering that God give me this body to take care of, what I am doing about that . The one best practice that I have yet to master is the one I will call stop, breath, assess and make the choice, and then follow thru along the path that is best for me and that path is treating myself like my own best friend and who would aid their own best to put back 15 lbs?
To another success filled day. And I believe these principles are God directed.

Okay here goes after a weight reduction of 80 lbs in the past three years, in the past two months I have manage to add back 15 lbs; so I am so ready to examine what is the cause and I believe I have found it, the cause I mean. I am not letting my game be God directed I am directing my response to the temptations I have and not cling to my core value of believing that all things are possibly thru Christ who strengthens me. So today I am making the decision to move on and past the problems I have created give them up to God and asking Him to be present in all areas of my life. I have not abdicated my work in this game I will not be a couch potato. I have come up with a plan to start a streak and built in rewards along the way. I am using the 5 day plan. The first five days begin today with using the plan of success that I had and have had on most days. 5 days of doing that, the first reward is a t-shirt and scarf purchase. I am been admiring the use of this fashion on others and I would like to wear this look too. So my goal is to come here and add up the days 5 in a row and then move on to the next streak of 5 days until I am back at my goal weight. The reality I know I have done this before with great success so I have the experience to do this. The options are to weight EOD to keep me accountable. To interrupt my negative self talk by acknowledge the feeling and moving on. To talk positive with daily affirmations. I have been successful and I can be again. To cling to my core values. The will is knowing that building self belief is the greatest tool I have in my arsenal. I would love to hear from others who my be having the same or similar experiences. Have a God blessed day.
